Welcome and information!
Welcome to my blog! =) I never really thought of the idea to have a blog or thought of myself as a blogger but this is actually kinda fun...
I'll start by saying that this blog is mostly about new and upcoming teen or YA novels. If you're someone between the ages of 15 and 21 who likes to read, then this blog is for you.
Something really interesting about my blog is that I will NEVER review an ARC (before the release date) unless I have a second copy to give away to the people who read my blog. I promise to look out for my readers! That's actually what inspired me to start up this blog. It's pretty hard to obtain ARCs unless you have a blog. I write many reviews on goodreads and I've only ever won one ARC; Tilt by Ellen Hopkins. Also, it's almost impossible to join any good ARC swap group unless you have a blog. I think that's complete and total bullshit, and I want to help other dedicated readers get these chances.
That leads me to blog membership. Membership to my blog is only $10 per year and I promise all of the money goes straight back to you!
This is what membership gets you:
- one entrance into every MEMBERS ONLY drawings and contests
- SIX extra entrances into ANY drawing or contest. However, you can use a maximum of three extra entrances on one contest, drawing, or giveaway. So that's six total extra entrances. These may not be used on member only content, just general content. And you may use 1-3 on one thing.
- You will be refunded your membership charge if you do not win one single thing throughout the calendar year. (July-July OR August-August. I just haven't decided yet.)
This is what membership gives me:
- Money to buy goodies that go straight back to this blog
- Ticket(s) to BEA or other book festivals where I can meet authors, get pictures, ARCs, interviews, and maybe some special members-only content.
That's not to say you have to or even SHOULD become a member. I promise you that there will be a lot of special events and goodies for everybody that will be just as good! =) And if I don't have enough interest in the member program it won't even happen and everyone would just be refunded, so we'll have to see. =p
The membership is optional, refundable and very beneficial for me, but for all of you as well.
Now back to the fun stuff!
Does anyone have tips about how to get ARCs? I'm trying to gather a lot for my official blog launch event. I may already be close to a couple good ones but I will disclose more information later, once it's a done deal!
Since this blog isn't just for me, it's mostly for you, what would YOU like to see? Are there any books that are available right now that you want to know about? Give me some titles to review! And what about ARCs? What are you most eager to read? What should I be looking for? Let me know in the comments section.
